How long does the construction of a building take?
A 60 square metre log cabin takes about 5-6 months to complete. It takes about 1-2 months to build a garage or a carport, garden shed or a children's play area. That is, if everything for the construction of the building has already been pre-arranged.
Why decide to build with wood?
Because wood is ecologically and environmentally friendly. This is to encourage building with Slovenian wood and to preserve the tradition of our ancestral buildings and handcrafting. Wood is an excellent insulator and, if properly manufactured and maintained, can have a lifespan of up to 200 years. Wood is 5x better insulator than brick and 15x better than concrete. Wood has been proven to have excellent earthquake-resistant structural properties, and can withstand up to level 9 on the Mercalli or EMS scale.
It can also be perfectly combined with modern materials to modernise the building deisgn and bring it into the 21st century.
How is the wood protected from the elements?
It is protected with a special impregnation against insects, mould, and UV rays. After impregnation, you can also choose to protect it with different oils, paints or waxes.
